Deb grew up in a small town in northern Indiana, spending her younger days riding bikes and playing sports with her brother, chasing farm animals, and running through cornfields. She participated in various sports but left her mark as a top high jumper during high school and college.
Deb earned her degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Nutrition from the University of Louisville. After receiving her degree, she moved on to manage the corporate fitness centers for Yum Brands, where she motivated thousands through group programming and promoted employee heath & wellness. During her spare time, she coached the women’s jump teams at the University of Louisville and lectured new coaches on proper nutrition for athletes. After six years, she left the corporate world and started a new career as a mother.
Since leaving Yum Brands, she has focused on individual wellness, coaching, and personal training through in-home exercise programs. This has allowed her to dedicate a majority of her time to raising her two children, Sophia & Graham, and supporting her husband, Tom.
Deb’s passion for helping people does not stop with health and wellness. Many local and national charities, including Gilda’s Club of Louisville, March of Dimes, and The American Cancer Society, have benefitted from the time and effort she has given toward fundraising and increasing awareness. Her latest endeavor was for The St. Baldrick’s Foundation & Locks of Love, both of which help children fighting cancer. Her selfless efforts made her the top fund raiser in the area and left her bald!
Deb is a role model for people she meets by stressing the importance of maintaining a balanced diet and daily exercise.
Her experience in these areas helps her to craft programs specific to individuals. We are happy to welcome Deb to The Spine Center as our Health Coach where she will be able to assist you in reaching your goals in diet & exercise and to simply feel better. |
